Parent Community Center

The Parent-Community Center
The Parent-Community Center is a resource center for our school families – a partnership between the school, parents, and community. Our vision is to see the parents, school and community share parenting and educational responsibilities. The success of our students depends on these partnerships. The Kealakehe High SCC (School Community Council) is a principal venue in which to share decision making, ensuring all students’ needs are met.
The Parent-Community Center is a collaborative effort between the Kealakehe School Complex, Family Support Services of West Hawai’i, and Hawai’i Parent Information & Resource Centers (HPIRC: www.hawaiipirc.org). Parent Centers are funded nationally through the U.S. Dept. of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement (http://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/oiindex.html).
Some of the year-round services provided by the Parent-Community center are:
- Education Support & Information About School Programs
- Educational Support for Parents of Children with Learning Challenges
- Family Information Center
The Parent-Community Center is for everyone; we invite you to come and make it your place, too. Come “talk story”, volunteer and find good friends. The Center respects confidentiality. We are located in the northwest corner of the Cafeteria, to the left of the stage.
